Significance of board certification

When you are attempting to choose a medical doctor for a physical problem that you have, you should look for two things:

  1. A doctor that specializes in the part of your body that is injured and,
  2. A doctor that is board certified.

When you are attempting to choose an attorney for a legal problem that you have, you should also look for two things:

  1. An attorney that specializes in the area of your legal problem and,
  2. An attorney that is board certified.

The Florida Bar has established stringent standards that must be met by an attorney in order to become board certified, including a requisite number of jury trials, a requisite number of continuing legal education hours and the passing of the Florida Bar board certification examination.

When a medical doctor or lawyer becomes board certified, they have attained the highest level that they can reach in their area of expertise.
