Personal Injury
A personal injury occurs when a person suffers injury or damage that is caused by someone else, and can occur as a result of an auto accident, slip and fall, animal attack, medical malpractice, wrongful death or other cause.
A person who suffers a personal injury has a legal right to obtain compensation for their injuries and damage from the person that caused the personal injury.
The person that suffers the personal injury can obtain the compensation from the person that caused the injury or from that persons insurance company.
If the person that caused the injury, or their insurance company, agrees to pay the compensation, then the case is settled by payment of the money to the injured person.
If the person that caused the injury, or their insurance company, refuses to pay the compensation, then the injured person has the right to file a lawsuit in the civil legal system.
There are civil attorneys that will take a case with an aim towards settlement, but will not file a lawsuit or take a case to trial.
Robert G. Corirossi has specialized in civil law since 1982, has been Florida Bar Board Certified in Civil Trial Practice since 1991 and is willing to file a lawsuit and
take a case to trial if a settlement cannot be reached.
